How did we come out on social media?

For us, we were still long distance (Lisana in the US) and I was in Mexico. In one of our “facetime calls” we were like what if we had an instagram together? It could be cool to share our journey, our love, and maybe be an inspiration for other gay women...

Lisana thought it was just a casual conversation until I told her that same night that I created our account and sent her the username and password lol 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Weeks later one of my sisters came into my bedroom yelling “REGINAAAAA What the F* is this? One of my friends sent me a screenshot of your instagram and it is so embarassing! Look at this photo...this is porn!” (lol she really said that)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then she was like: “Why are you selfish? Why don’t you think of our family? What if my daughters see this? What am I gonna tell them?” Why can’t you keep this private!?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I responded, “maybe you don’t get it but I want to share with you the purpose behind it. This is not a bunch of images, this is our story with a strong message. In today’s world, people want to see raw, real life! we can impact so much just by sharing! this is me and Lisana, the person I love the most whether you like it or not. You have your love story with your husband, let me have mine, and if you don’t like what you see then block us”

And the rest is history! I listened to my heart and more than ever I was so excited because we have a story to tell. With all the good things and the scars too

Once we met and eventually became a couple, it was amazing to reflect on the fact that we both felt like what we had done and gone through the last few years had truly prepared us for our encounter.👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩

We both went through a tremendous loss before meeting that took us on a journey of improving emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, financially, and in our personal relationships.🙏🏼

I remember my best friend Rachel who had already proposed to her now wife said to me, “you can write out exactly what your planning on saying and rehearsing it over and over, but when it actually happens your going to like.. black out😂

Well... she was right! This felt like a total out of body experience and because I was SO nervous I almost didn’t spit out, “will you marry me?” LOL

The moment I was ready and gave my signal about the “weather” to the photographers...as I held Regina and uttered a few words my whole body was shaking so hard!🙈
(dead giveaway lol) in addition to having a recording device tapped to my stomach that I was sure was going to fall off at any moment🤪
